omorkaIt's that time of year again, so here we go!
First of all - thank you so much for offering to write in my tiny pet fandoms! I realize that in some cases, the canon is a little hard to get, so thank you for agreeing to take on something a teeny bit obscure. I fully understand that Optional Details Are Optional, and pretty much anything you write will make me squee.
I do have two Please Don't requests. The first is pretty standard: no non-con, please. If it's a reference to an implied past event, I can handle it, but I have a serious consent fetish - even dubcon weirds me out if it's not made clear by the end that everyone was basically okay with it. The second is a little less justifiable, but - please, I'd really prefer not a total downer ending. It's okay if things end in a dark place as long as there's a light at the end of the tunnel, or at least a possibility of one, but I'd prefer it if there were at least some hope.
In general, I'm a multishipper, and I ship het, slash, femslash, and poly with roughly equal ease; at the same time, I am also totally fine with genfic. If you do decide to swing explicit in the fic, I do have a few squicks - bloodplay/weapon-play, unsafe anal sex (with condoms and lube it's fine), and anything involving former food. I'm especially fond of playful kinks, jealousy-free threesomes or triads, and hurt/comfort (whether shippy, smarmy, or friendshippy). PWP isn't my favorite thing in the world, and neither is fluff, but in either case if it reveals or illuminates something about the characters I can easily forgive a lack of plottiness.
On to the specifics:
1) Real Ghostbusters, Ray Stantz, Janine Melnitz, I'd love to see some exploration of how Ray and Janine interact, either around the Firehouse or during/after a bust. Either shippy fic or friends-fic is fine with me!
This is practically identical to one of my requests from last year. This fandom (what there is of it) tends to be all about Peter and Egon, and that's great - please don't feel that my not naming them means you can't write about them, too! But Winston and Janine don't get much love, and Ray tends to be the tag-along to the two boys with the big hair. I'd love to see someone else's take on Ray and Janine's relationship. At the risk of tripping your "augh, my childhood!" switch, let me cautiously note that the main characters of this series are sort of my OT5, so if you happened to be kinked for threesomes or moresomes (whether PG-13 or NC-17), that would make me all kinds of happy. On the other hand, if you want to write a casefic involving all of the Firehouse Five on brightly-colored G-rated adventures in busting spooks, I'll gladly take that, too.
One side note: if the mood strikes you to do holiday fic, it might be useful to you to know that in my ideocanon, Janine and Egon are at least culturally Jewish (although neither of them is particularly religiously observant) and Ray is either agnostic or Pagan. If you write any of them as explicitly Christian, it will weird me out a little bit. Not saying you can't, or even shouldn't, do it; just putting that out there so no one accidentally trips over it.
2) Last Starfighter (1984 movie), Centauri, Beta Unit, Alex Rogan, The last thing the Beta Unit says in the movie is "You owe me one, Alex Rogan." What did he mean by that? What did Centauri lead him to expect when he brought the Beta Unit to Earth? Despite being blown to bits, will Beta somehow collect on the debt? I want to know!
Okay, so I find the Beta Unit far too interesting a character. I'd love to see either some exploration of the role of Beta Units in the Starfighter Corps in general - are they standard issue? Where did Centauri get this one? Did Beta know he was coming to a technological backwater? - or some post-movie interaction between Alex and his Beta (perhaps Maggie found and saved the memory core). Again, don't take my lack of a mention of Maggie, Grig, or Louis as a reason not to work them into the story, should they have something important to say (or just be attention hogs).
3) Phonogram (comic), Silent Girl, Seth Bingo, So - we know that Seth is a phonomancer and yet isn't into the organized versions of phonomancy that Kohl and Aster practice. He more or less lays the whammy on himself by accident during Singles Club. What's his story? And how does Silent Girl fit into it?
If this is the fandom you got matched to me on, bless you, and I will honestly read anything you choose to write in this universe whether it has these characters in it or not. What I'm sort of hoping for here is a bit of backstory - if you chose to write Seth's falling out with the coven/Emily, I'll lap it up. An investigation into the exact nature of his friendship with Silent Girl would also be welcome. Pretty much anything will make me happy as long as both Seth and Silent Girl make some sort of appearance, though, even if you decide to focus on someone else (Kohl, Aster, even Lloyd or Marc - Penny and KWK aren't my favorite characters, but you could probably even make me like them).
4) Real Genius (1985 movie), Chris Knight, Mitch Taylor, At the end of the movie, Chris is about to graduate. What happens to his and Mitch's relationship afterwards?
They're really only together for one semester, but what a ride! So - does Knight just dance out of Mitch's life afterwards? Do they keep in touch by e-mail? Letters delivered by increasingly unlikely means? Do they take a Spring Break road trip together every year? And how does Kent factor into their lives (if he does)? Presumably he's still a grad student at Pacific Tech after Knight graduates, and while Taylor's still there. If Jordan finds her way into the story, I will not be at all disappointed, either.
