So what with all the labor unrest and all, I was bouncing around link-surfing off of a few blogs about the Great Discordian Prank Call until I got to this YouTube page

Now, I knew who Mimi Pureena was named after, but for whatever reason, I hadn't heard this song before. It's been a while since a song had me in tears on first listening - and this despite the metonymy problem (I don't actually particularly care for bread or roses as such).

So I went to snag a copy of the song, and I can't find that one, but the Judy Collins version is close enough. (I also picked up two other versions, one of them reggae.) And I went to listen to it, still half-crying, which means it's hard to hit the high notes. I was halfway through before I realized the lyrics were probably in Rise Up Singing, so I went and found my copy - and sure enough, there they are on p. 245, clear as day.

And then iTunes (which is, as always, on shuffle) jumped to - well, you can see the bottom of the post. I have maintained for quite some time that iTunes is, for all practical purposes, a divination tool, and as opinionated as most Tarot decks if not more so. But this was particularly facepalm-worthy, if accurate.
